Day 1: Anchorage, the City of Lights and Flowers

Enjoy your complimentary private V.I.P. door-to-door transfer to your UK departure airport. Welcome to Alaska! Upon arrival at Anchorage International Airport, there is an airport transfer to your hotel. At 6.00 pm, join your Tour Director for a Welcome Reception with drinks and a light meal.

Day 2: Anchorage Sightseeing

After a good night's rest, get acquainted with downtown Anchorage. Visit the Alaska Native Heritage Center and learn about the traditions of Alaska's first people during this private presentation. Afterward, drive around Lake Hood to visit the largest float plane base in the world. Meet a bush pilot who shares fascinating stories about the joys and hazards of flying in rural Alaska. The rest of the afternoon is yours to browse among the shops or native art galleries. This evening, you are invited for a delectable Highlight Dinner at a popular downtown restaurant.

Day 3: Journey along the Alaskan Railroad

After breakfast, board your luxury motorcoach for the journey to Talkeetna, nestled at the base of Mount McKinley, North America's tallest peak and the inspiration for the TV program “Northern Exposure”. After a brief visit downtown, board the world-famous Alaskan Railroad train for a spectacular journey over narrow gorges and swift-rushing streams to Denali National Park. View steep valleys framed by craggy mountains from the comfort of your reclining seat in the deluxe dome railcar. Your welcoming hotel is located on the slopes of Sugarloaf Mountain, perched at the edge of a bluff with unparalleled views of the surrounding Denali wilderness and Nenana River Canyon. Tonight, enjoy a taste of the frontier at a rollicking highlight theatre dinner, featuring old-time sourdough song-and-dance and hearty Alaska fare.

Day 4: Denali National Park, the Crown Jewel of the Alaskan Wilderness

After breakfast, the six million acre Denali National Park and Preserve is just minutes away. Begin with an easy one-hour guided hike to learn about the tundra and wildlife in the park. The remainder of the day is open for recreation or optional activities. Why not take an exciting rafting trip down the Nenana River, or a helicopter flightseeing tour for close-up views of Mt. McKinley?

Day 5: Girdwood and Mount Alyeska

Board a deluxe motorcoach for your journey south on the George Parks Highway. Stop along the way for lunch and an exclusive visit with a champion dog musher and four-time Iditarod winner. At the home of Martin Buser, you are invited to meet his dogs and share the challenges of competing in the 1,049-mile dogsled race. Continue on the Seward Highway along Turnagain Arm with its dramatic views. Arrive in the town of Girdwood, home of Alyeska Resort and ski area. Ride the aerial gondola for panoramic views of the mountains and sea at your leisure. In the evening, join your Tour Director for a wonderful Celebration Dinner complete with wine and good cheer.

Day 6: Prince William Sound Cruise

Today is devoted to the 26 Glacier Cruise through Prince William Sound and College Fjord. Experience the thundering calving of glaciers and keep your eyes peeled for wildlife such as sea otters, porpoises and whales.

Day 7: Join your Glacier Discovery Cruise (Inside, Outside or Verandah staterooms available)

Transfer to the Port of Seward to board the ms Statendam or ms Oosterdam. Set sail this evening.

Day 8-13: Your Glacier Discovery Cruise

Enjoy your ship’s facilities over the next week as you watch the ever changing panorama of unspoiled virgin forests and vast wilderness that stretches all the way from Alaska to British Columbia. Witness the world’s largest collection of tidewater glaciers as you cruise to Prince William Sound and College Fjord. Behold Glacier Bay National Park, its Sitka-spruce forests alive with grizzlies and wolves. You’ll be struck by the thunderous boom of building-size icebergs calving into the sea from vast rivers of ice. Explore picturesque Haines, located on America’s longest fjord and browse the rustic shops and gold rush-era saloons of Juneau. At Ketchikan, learn the stories behind the collection of native totem poles. While cruising a full breakfast (FB), lunch (L) and dinner (D) is served on board each day. A range of optional shore excursions and additional sightseeing will also be offered on board.

Day 14: Depart Vancouver or extend your stay
